On Saturday, August 30th, 14 of us gathered to discuss whether the favorite books from our childhoods stood the test of time, and I would say that 90% of the time, they did! So dust off that book that made you fall in love with reading and give it another read - chances are, you won't regret it! September Book Club
The year is 2025, which as we all know is Jane Austen's 250th birthday! It's technically not until December, but we at Läs is More are celebrating early to gear up for the "Love & Lust" theme at this year's Bokmässan at the end of the month. So dust off your bonnets and sharpen your wits—we’ll be diving into Austen’s world of longing looks, scandalous dances, and deliciously sharp social satire.
2025 Book Bracket - August Edition
For the most part, my August reads were quite hit and miss. The two standouts were Tom Lake and Demon Copperhead, with the latter eking out the win. I am also improving on the audiobook front - for once, I had a hard time turning off an audiobook, Karin Slaughter's 16+ hour thriller, We Are All Guilty Here. For those keeping track, I have now checked off 51 of the 52 prompts for The English Bookshop's reading challenge! The last prompt being a "September book of the month", which means I'm eagerly anticipating this next round of book club picks!

When investigators start to suspect the staff, Queen Elizabeth II starts her own investigation with the help of her secretary Rozie. A charming and funny detective story. Following the Queen, we get an insight into royal life and the mind of a very unlikely detective. A cozy read.
Begars Abbey, VL Valentine: It's December 1953 in New York. Sam Cooper is down on her luck. Her mom is dead and Sam has no money left. She finds a letter that reveals she has a grandmother living in a mansion in Yorkshire. Sam decides to visit her grandmother, but when she arrives she discovers the house is full of dark secrets. A gothic story full of ghosts, secret tunnels, a dark past and a weird housekeeper. An atmospheric page-turner.
