June is PRIDE month, so at our next book club, we'll be joining in by reading books by LGBTQ+ authors or that have relevant themes. That's right - that means you can read books like Postmortem by Patricia Cornwell (crime fiction, queer author), In Memoriam (queer protagonist, straight author), or The House in the Cerulean Sea (queer protagonist, queer author). So get reading, and if you need recommendations, stop by the shop to check out our book club spotlight shelf or reach out via social media. Hope to see you all there!

May 29th is Veterans Day here in Sweden, so at our May book club, we'll be remembering them by reading books under the theme of "War Stories". The books we discuss can span any genre - fiction or non-fiction, YA or crime - as long as they relate to, or take place during, a period of war. So get reading, and if you need recommendations, stop by the shop (we now have a book club spotlight shelf with suggested reads!) or reach out via social media. Hope to see you all there!

April 22nd is Earth Day, so at our April book club, we're taking a spin around it all while promoting sustainability by reading used books. This month's theme is "Read around the World", which means that we're reading to learn about a place that we don't know much about. Bonus points if your book is translated from a language you don't know or if the author wrote it in their non-native language. The books we discuss can span any genre - fiction or non-fiction, YA or crime - and any time period. So get reading, and if you need recommendations, stop by the shop or reach out via social media. Hope to see you all there!

March is Women's History Month! To celebrate, next month’s book club is all about female authors. We'll discuss our recent reads and recommendations in the category, all while enjoying a cozy atmosphere and great food from Latteria. And if you need a book, stop by the shop - we have no shortage of options!

If you've been to any of our book clubs here at Läs is More, you'll know that they're a little unique. There's no homework or required reading, but instead, they provide an opportunity to connect with other likeminded Gothenburgers and share recommendations. Next month, we're going to go even more rogue with our event, Bookshop After Hours! On Saturday, February 10th from 16:00-17:30, I will be transforming the bookshop into a lounge of sorts - with pillows, blankets, air mattresses, and chairs - where we can gather to read together, or split off into small groups to discuss certain books. During this time, non-alcoholic beverages will be available and you will be free to read any of the books in the shop. RSVP by purchasing a ticket on our website, but don't delay - attendance is capped at 15 people!

Happy New Year!! To celebrate, this month’s book club is all about reading goals for 2024 - are you aiming for a specific number of books, pages, or time spent reading? Maybe you’re even doing an A-Z challenge or looking to read more in another language. No matter what your goal is, let’s meet up to share our progress and encourage each other. We’ll also discuss upcoming releases, and if we have time at the end, read together with a coffee or bite to eat from Latteria. RSVP by clicking the picture below.

Let’s review our favorite books of the year in this month’s book club! Before we meet, choose your favorite book from each of our genres to share with like-minded Gothenburgers.

And no stress if you don’t have one for each - more than anything, this is just an opportunity to eat good food and hang out with fellow bibliophiles.

This month’s book club will take place on Sunday, December 10th at 3pm in Antikhallarna. RSVP by clicking the picture below and signing up for our event. Hope to see you all there!
